About Antifa Ottakring

Antifa Ottakring is a locally rooted antifascist community in Vienna.
We work in our district and beyond against fascism, racism, antisemitism, sexism, queerphobia and other forms of dehumanisation – with a focus on solidarity in practice and concrete support.

What we are building

Alongside our on-the-ground work we are gradually building independent online infrastructure and tools, for example:

• a Mastodon instance and presence in the Fediverse
  
• a blog and further channels for information and documentation
  
• a wiki for materials, resources and knowledge from and for the community
  
• additional services for networking, exchange and organising
  

Our goal is to make antifascist and solidarity-based content accessible without relying on commercial platforms, advertising or aggressive tracking.

Non-commercial project

The structure of Antifa Ottakring is non-commercial and based on voluntary engagement.
Activities, infrastructure and content are carried by people from the community, not by companies or political parties.

Why we ask for donations

Building and running infrastructure and projects comes with ongoing costs, including:

• servers, hosting and technical infrastructure
  
• domains, bandwidth and secure connections
  
• backups, maintenance and other operational tools
  
• materials for events, educational work and actions
  

Part of these costs is currently covered privately by individual people from the community.
